On Friday, February 13, 2026, The Clergy Retreat ended with the Holy Liturgy at St. Mark’s Cathedral. The Qurobo was presided by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak. It was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Alan Shaltan and Rev. Fr. Imad Al-Banna, in the presence of the clergy of the Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States.
In his sermon, Fr. Alan spoke about Luke 12. He said Jesus calls us “the little flock” and tells us not to be afraid. God gives us His Kingdom with love. He spoke about a white cloth on a tree to show that God is waiting for us with mercy. He gave three simple keys: trust the Good Shepherd, keep love and forgiveness in your heart, and stay close to the altar and Holy Eucharist, which is our true strength. After the Holy Liturgy, everyone was invited to an agape brunch.
